HOUSTON - On February 22, Hope Through Grace, Inc. (HTG) in partnershipwith Amerigroup Corp. hosted a luncheon for citizens of the HoustonMetroplex Community. The luncheon offered an opportunity to accomplishtwo key goals: to heighten attention to Colorectal Cancer Awareness;and to give those who attended an in-depth orientation of the HopeThrough Grace organization, its programs and services that areavailable to assist in reducing the incidence and morbidity ofcolorectal cancer.

Aftersurviving her own bout with colorectal cancer, and witnessing herhusband’s experience with the disease, Grace L. Butler, Ph.D.,President, CEO and founder of Hope Through Grace and host of theluncheon event, (seated) dedicated herself to carrying the awarenessmessage about colorectal cancer to everyone she meets. Dr. Butler andher daughter, Olethia Chisolm, M.D., an Internal Medicine specialist atKelsey-Seybold Clinic and a founding board member of Hope ThroughGrace, celebrate a successful event and outreach to the Houstoncommunity.
Dr. Bernard Levin, M. D., Vice Presidentfor Cancer Prevention, The University of Texas M. D. Anderson CancerCenter delivered the key note address and discussed the impact andstatistics surrounding colorectal cancer and the populations iteffects. Dr. Levin is a distinguished physician, researcher,administrator and policy maker. After surviving her own boutwith colorectal cancer, and witnessing her husband’s experience withthe disease, Grace L. Butler, Ph.D., President, CEO and founder of HopeThrough Grace and host of the luncheon event, dedicated herself tocarrying the awareness message about colorectal cancer to everyone shemeets. “I believe people will share this information with theirfamilies, friends and associates and encourage them to adopt morehealthy behaviors,” Dr. Butler said. “By so doing, everyone will make adifference in stamping out colorectal cancer.” Hope Through Grace is a 501(C)(3) non-profit organization for cancer prevention, early detection, and cancer survivorship.
